Nkporo is a rural community nestled in Abia State, Nigeria — a place full of potential but underserved when it comes to access to tools and opportunities young people need for sustainable growth. Despite development efforts, the community continues to receive limited attention from the government in critical areas like youth empowerment, quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

Introducing: The Nkporo Digital Literacy Leap Project

The Nkporo National Development Union (NDUUSA) is launching a bold initiative to build a tech learning hub at the heart of Nkporo. This hub will:

• Train youth in basic computer literacy, coding, design, and data management
• Serve as a digital access point for online learning and resources
• Host workshops that drive innovation and local problem-solving

Why This Matters

• Access to Opportunities: 70% of youth in Nkporo lack reliable electricity, internet, or access to computers. Only 1 in 100 youth have the digital skills needed for modern jobs.
• Youth Empowerment: Over 60% of the population is under 30 and disconnected from digital education and employment opportunities.
• Community Resilience: The hub will promote knowledge sharing and skills development through community-based collaboration.
• Sustainable Development: Digital literacy breaks the cycle of poverty and opens doors to global opportunities.
